Overland Park, Kansas house fire kills 2, injures 1

Crews arrived to find a working fire, with reports of multiple people trapped. Firefighters from Lenexa and Overland Park began search and rescue operations as they worked to put the fire out. They found three people inside the house, two of whom were found dead. The third person was taken to the hospital and is reportedly in stable condition, according to the Overland Park Fire Department. The victims have only been identified as a man and a woman in their 30s. The injured individual was the female homeowner and the mother of one of the adult victims. Authorities said three teens escaped from that house fire. Firefighters said there were no working smoke detectors inside the home. The home was the only structure damaged by the fire. The cause is under investigation.
