Man dies after Lake Keowee boating incident, coroner says

A man died Sunday afternoon after he was struck on his right leg by the propeller of a boat, according to the Oconee County Coroner’s Office.At 3:36 pm, Oconee 911 Communications received a call reporting a person had been struck by the propeller of a boat near Fall Creek Landing, the coroner said.The man was freed from the lake into the boat, and taken to the Fall Creek Landing access. He sustained cardiac arrest, the coroner said. The man died at the hospital, the coroner said. His identity has not been released.The preliminary cause of death is blood loss due to the cut on his right leg, the coron said.This incident is being investigated by the SC Department of Natural Resources.His manner of death is being classified accidental , the coroner said.
