Bicyclist critically injured in Jefferson County hit-and-run

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colorado — deputies are looking for the driver who hit and seriously injured a cyclist in the El Rancho area of ​​Jefferson County Sunday morning.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said it happened around 9:45 am Sunday on Highway 40 between Evergreen Parkway and Interstate 70.

Deputies said they believe the driver intentionally hit two cyclists. One was taken to the hospital, where she is in critical condition. The other did not require hospitalization, deputies said.

The suspect vehicle is described as a gray 2018 Ford Escape with temporary Colorado license plate number 2959061. It likely has front end damage.
